As part of its commitment to empowering labour organizations and enhancing institutional resilience, Mondiaal FNV launched a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the financial management and operational capacity of two key partners in Ghana: the Union of Education, Agriculture & General Services Workers (UNEAGES) and the General Agricultural Workers’ Union of Ghana (GAWU). This critically important project focuses on building capacity in core areas such as human capital development, organizational structures, and systems improvement. These enhancements are designed to support both the specific mission of the project and the broader strategic goals of the participating unions, with JPCann Associates Ltd contracted to lead the assignment.
For UNEAGES, JPCann reviewed their ongoing project accounts with comprehensive reports submitted to Mondiaal FNV. The third review was postponed to allow for the completion of ongoing training activities. All four contracted training sessions covering Monitoring & Evaluation, Trustees Governance, Project Accounting & Reporting, and Microsoft Excel were successfully delivered. Additionally, UNEAGES received a finalized Accounting and Finance Procedural Manual, which is expected to enhance financial governance and operational consistency.
For GAWU JPCann has also reviewed the projects finances and successfully completed trainings on QuickBooks, and Board Trustees Governance aimed at strengthening GAWU’s financial systems and governance capacity.
JPCann Associates Ltd was contracted to undertake this project with our role being central to ensuring the project’s objectives are met with professionalism, strategic insight, and alignment with international standards.
